Where Have You Been...Not That I Missed You

After three pregnancy tests and a checkup at the gyno to make sure I was alright, I finally got my cycle! I got it Friday night. I was so relieved to have gotten it! I went to the gyno last Tuesday to make sure I was okay, and the doctor gave me birth control pills to start my cycle. Well, I decided to hold off on them till Sunday and take goodness I did because I got it Friday. I really did not want to start the pill until I got my first cycle just to make sure they will going to work. I've always heard that you have to take it the Sunday after your cycle, but the doctor assured me that is not THE rule. But it doesn't matter because I feel like a woman again...LOL.

My precious Alexa is growing up. The pediatrician told me that I need to start her on a little bit of cereal. And to also give her a sippy cup just to experiment with. I probably won't start any of that until she is about five months though. She still acts like a newborn newborn, so I don't know if she is ready for all that...or maybe I'm just not ready =)

Hope everyone is having a great Monday and a great rest of the week!

Wow...what a scare that must have been. I bet you weren't planning on having another baby so soon so you were probably relieved! Glad to hear it all worked out.
Babies grow up so quickly. I can't wait to see our little one for the first time and to watch him/her grow up! What a wonderful time.

I don't miss the "womanhood" thing one bit, good riddence!! But I could see where it would cause you a little nervousness!

I agree with the Dr about the cereal...but a sippy cup already?? What's up with that??

Jeez! I just looked at word verify...it's like 20 letters long, how many times will I have to type it out before I get it right?? Word verify hates me! ;)

Congrats (I think) on the cycle - I am trying to get rid of mine permanently but the insurance company won't let me until I am 35 (long story lots of issues - would save them money in the long run if they just take it out - oh don't get me started on insurance - haha)

Yep, cereal is a good idea - but I know how you feel about not being ready - they do grow up so fast, can't believe my daughter will be in highschool this fall.

Why in the world did the Ped tell you to start her on cereal? I agree with you, she does NOT need that right now! She needs time to get adjusted to all of her new medications and get her tummy issues worked out before we through cereal in the mix! That will just make her even more stopped up. Plus her adjusted age is not even 4 months...well I guess she will be soon but still. I think you should wait too...good choice mama!

That's funny about the sippy cup, I mean hilarous. Why would you start her on that now at 4 months adjusted age? I didn't start Tristyn until 8 months...and they change A LOT from 4 to 8 months!

OH! Glad you finally got to meet up with Aunt Flo! HAHAHA! The joys of being a woman. I'm glad mine will be MIA for 32 more weeks!

Maybe the cereal will help the meds be gentler on her belly? I don't know. But a sippy cup! That just sounds insane, lol.

Congrats on your AF return.

Oh I wish I could have kept not having it...LOL. I loved the year and 2 months I didn't have it :)

And WTF with the sippy cup!!??? That's just crazy! We didn't start Grace w/ a sippy til she was maybe 11 months and even then she didn't start using it all the time til she was a year. Cereal, we didn't start her on til she was almost 4 months.

Oh I feel your pain with the pregnancy scare! I got pregnant with my second child only six or seven months after my first.
They are fourteen months apart. I was so upset when I found out I was pregnant, but now I'm glad. My girls are my life.
You will always be a bit sad as Alexa passes from stage to stage. Its hard to leave behind that age, that part of your "baby".

Glad your cycle is back, and your mind is put to ease :).

Little Alexa would have no idea what to do with a sippy cup!

I have heard cereal for babies around 4 months. I also heard that cereal can be good for reflux babies.

We introduced the sippy cup at 6 months with Alyssa and she could use it fully by 9 months. I agree, 4 month is too early for that.

I am glad that Aunt Flo came to visit. I can imagine being nervous thinking about the pregnancy thing too. I haven't started mine yet and I have started to *think*. Morgan is only 8 weeks though, so I am not too worried yet.

ummm, yeah, I agree with everyone on the sippy cup issue. I remember they said the same thing to me when Zachary was about 5 months. "Is he using a sippy cup yet?" uh no, he's only 5 months. He didn't start using it on a regular basis till he was about 11 months. I started giving it to him to play with and experiment with around 8 months. That's so stupid. All the kids used a bottle till close to a year. Anyways, now cereal I can see. Both my other kids started on cereal between 3 and 4 months. I am getting ready to start Seth with it. Most people will mix it right in with their formula in a bottle, but I always go directly to a spoon. Not that he isn't getting enough milk, but it helps with sleeping through the night. And Seth doesn't do that!! lol and I could use a full nights sleep!! So yes with cereal, no with sippy. But go at your own pace. If you feel the urge to try it and she seems completely resistant, don't push it. Go with your gut. All my kids loved the shit out of cereal. Especially with a little mashed banana!! I just remember my mom walking me through the first cereal feeding with Olivia. "You can't hurt her with cereal. Add a little banana, because you don't like to eat things that taste like crap do you? Neither does she. So just give her a little bit at a time, see what she does, and go on. She's gonna spit it out at first, she's never had that kind of thing in her mouth. Just keep up with it a little at a time. She'll learn how to swallow it, and that it tastes good." Within a couple days she was a massive cereal eating baby!! lol

Sorry for the book. Good luck!
