Slacker

Man...I am really slacking on this blog thing. So a lot has been going on since the last time I posted. We FINALLY moved into our house...YAY! It feels soooo good to have your own place again. Alexa is adapting well. We've moved that kid around so much that she probably doesn't even know how long we will be in this house, but I made sure that we stay in this house for a very long time because we put so much effort and money into it.

I finally joined the gym about a month ago. I haven't lost any weight, but that's probably because I'm not eating healthy. I should do that or else I'm just burning off half of what I ate at McDonald's for lunch...LOL.

Alexa is getting older and smarter everyday. She has started to talk, but only a few words like here, shoe, cracker...etc. She LOVES to eat and has recently learned to climb out of bed, so if you put her down for nap and for the night, she will climb out a few times before she finally gives up and lays down. About a month ago, we went to Myrtle Beach and she hated the ocean, but LOVED the pool. Everytime we would get out, she would scream and pit a fit. She's like that in the bath too. She just loves water.

I'm trying to convince my husband that we should start trying for another baby. I can tell Alexa gets bored with us. Like over the weekend, she will whine and just sit there and not play because she has nobody to play with. I will try and play with her, but she gets bored with me after awhile. When she sees other kids, like when Tristyn comes over, she totally gets sooo excited. Besides, I want another child. I think we're ready.

Well that's it for now. I promise I will make more time to blog.

Alexa's First Haircut

Last Monday, I took Alexa to get her first haircut! I was kind of nervous about it because her hair is short enough and I didn't want to make it shorter and have her looking like a boy, but it desperately needed a trim. Despite my mom and mother-in-law's protests, I took her to Great Clips for a little trim up. I was also nervous about her first haircut because I didn't know if Great Clips knew how to handle toddlers, but the lady was really nice. Besides, she had no trouble with Alexa; she just sat in her chair and did not even fuss.

She loves those fingers!

Looking in the mirror to make sure she is doing a good job!

The finished product!

The other day, it was so gorgeous outside that Alexa and I decided to play outside for a couple of hours. She loves being outdoors.

Look how good she is walking!

The house is slowly coming along. We painted it last weekend. I am hoping by the end of the month we can move in, but I'm not so optimistic about it. My husband is such a perfectionist that I don't think we will ever move in. Anyway, Alexa is down for a nap and I think I'm going to lay down with her.

Update

Not much has happened since the last time I posted. Our house is still under construction, so we have moved in with Jeremy's aunt and uncle this past weekend. Hopefully we will have the house finished and ready to move in by the end of this month.

Alexa has grown so much since her first birthday party. I am happy to report that she is now walking. She is still a shaky walker, but only loses her balance occassionally. Needless to say, mommy does not get much relaxation time. Alexa has also found her voice. She loves to scream and talks a lot to herself. We don't understand what she is saying, but love the fact that she is expressing herself through words. She also expresses herself through pointing. She'll point to things she wants and if you say no, she will pitch a fit.

I don't know if this is just a stage, but she HATES (and I use the word hate in all caps) riding in her car seat. She will scream and arch her back so that I can't seat her in her seat. Once I've managed to get her in her seat, she will scoot herself down so I can't buckle her in. Meanwhile she is screaming through this whole process. I swear I get so embarrassed when I'm out in a public parking lot and she is doing all this. People probably think I'm killing her...gee whiz.

I can officially say my kid is a fatso. She LOVES (and this time I use the word love in all caps) to eat. She does not know the meaning of fullness and will eat until the fridge is empty. She eats everything and anything. She even has tried paper and leaves. When I'm feeding her something and I say all gone, she immediately starts pitching a fit. I'm like come on, we just ate a whole cow. I mean this girl can eat! I've started teaching her how to eat with utensils and she is catching on quickly. She loves to feed herself and is extremely well at it.

Alexa's ability to remember things is extremely high. I only have to show her something once or twice and she immediately catches on. She loves to "brush" her teeth, but really she just loves sucking the toothpaste (bubble gum flavor and safe to swallow) out of the brush. Everytime I go to the bathroom for something, she points to her toothbrush. It's just too cute!

I've been thinking a lot about having another baby. I feel like Alexa is at that age where she needs a sibling around at all times. She easily gets bored and she loves being around other kids. Her and her cousin love spending time together. They always have the best of times.
