Update

Not much has happened since the last time I posted. Our house is still under construction, so we have moved in with Jeremy's aunt and uncle this past weekend. Hopefully we will have the house finished and ready to move in by the end of this month.

Alexa has grown so much since her first birthday party. I am happy to report that she is now walking. She is still a shaky walker, but only loses her balance occassionally. Needless to say, mommy does not get much relaxation time. Alexa has also found her voice. She loves to scream and talks a lot to herself. We don't understand what she is saying, but love the fact that she is expressing herself through words. She also expresses herself through pointing. She'll point to things she wants and if you say no, she will pitch a fit.

I don't know if this is just a stage, but she HATES (and I use the word hate in all caps) riding in her car seat. She will scream and arch her back so that I can't seat her in her seat. Once I've managed to get her in her seat, she will scoot herself down so I can't buckle her in. Meanwhile she is screaming through this whole process. I swear I get so embarrassed when I'm out in a public parking lot and she is doing all this. People probably think I'm killing her...gee whiz.

I can officially say my kid is a fatso. She LOVES (and this time I use the word love in all caps) to eat. She does not know the meaning of fullness and will eat until the fridge is empty. She eats everything and anything. She even has tried paper and leaves. When I'm feeding her something and I say all gone, she immediately starts pitching a fit. I'm like come on, we just ate a whole cow. I mean this girl can eat! I've started teaching her how to eat with utensils and she is catching on quickly. She loves to feed herself and is extremely well at it.

Alexa's ability to remember things is extremely high. I only have to show her something once or twice and she immediately catches on. She loves to "brush" her teeth, but really she just loves sucking the toothpaste (bubble gum flavor and safe to swallow) out of the brush. Everytime I go to the bathroom for something, she points to her toothbrush. It's just too cute!

I've been thinking a lot about having another baby. I feel like Alexa is at that age where she needs a sibling around at all times. She easily gets bored and she loves being around other kids. Her and her cousin love spending time together. They always have the best of times.

I know what you mean about the other sibling. We're looking into the same thing.

She is so damn cute!!! lol

I hear you on all the above. Baby Boy is doing allot of the same things. He eats like a cow, and is now going through the throwing fits stage also. He doesn't mind his car seat, but when his brother takes something from him, or I take him away from something he isn't suppose to be playing with he can belt out a scream that reminds me of a man getting kicked in the you know what!! lol The kid has some lungs!!

Go ahead and make another baby, you can rest assure that it will be another cutie!! You make some cute babies! lol

Well I had my kids 6 years apart and the only advice I can give here is....don't let it stress you when she throws her fits (eating, car seat, etc.). Just be calm and when she sees its not stressing you it may help change the behavior - but then again I can't follow my own advice LOL

She is ADORABLE (in all caps here)

Oh yeah...and as for the tantrums in the car seat, we've gone through it with Alyssa.

Morgan loves to eat also, it must be the time of year. She can out eat Alyssa sometimes...LOL.

Hey Ju, If you could pass a message on to Taylor that I'd still like to read her blog is she still updates it. I tried to click on her blog to catch up and it is set to private now. I'm not sure how I would contact her to have her invite me to read (of course if she wants me to...LOL).

Thanks, Linda! :)

Congrats to Alexa for learning to walk. I'm sure my little one will be crawling soon.

As for the baby thing - my sister got pregnant with her second baby about 13 months after her first was born. She said that it was hard to handle both of them after the second was born because their ages were so disimilar. She tells me that it should be good for me to have them closer in age (and I'm hoping she's right) or to have them further apart in age. Her oldest was just not ready because she didn't even know how to say words and she got really jealous of ber baby brother. But it could just be her situation. If you were to get pregnant now - it could be different. As they say, all babies are different. Whatever the case, I know you will be the best mommy you can be. Afterall - Alexa has turned out so beautiful and precious.
